China's PLA Procurement of Nvidia Chips and AI Military Technology
An analysis of over 3,800 Chinese military procurement records found more than 500 instances since 2019 in which the People's Liberation Army sought Nvidia chips including the A100 and A800, raising concerns about US export controls. Separately, China approved the world's first invasive brain-computer interface chip and is pursuing aggressive AI expansion including new low-cost coding models. China is also tightening rules on outbound investment after the Meta-Manus deal.
