Educational Platform Cyberattack Disrupts Schools Globally
Canvas, a widely-used educational technology platform serving thousands of schools and universities, was disabled following a data extortion cyberattack claimed by ShinyHunters. The breach affected hundreds of thousands of students unable to access coursework or submit assessments. Universities in multiple countries, including UBC and SFU in Canada, confirmed impacts. Instructure, the platform operator, disabled access while investigating.
