European Defence Realignment as US Withdraws Troops from Germany

The US announced withdrawal of 5,000 troops from Germany, while NATO chief Mark Rutte said Europeans have 'gotten the message' on defence spending. Germany's defence ministry said there is no 'definitive cancellation' of planned US long-range missile deployments, and Canada pledged $270M to Ukraine at the European Political Community summit in Armenia.
